Omron Pedometer Reviews

Omron HJ-112 Pedometer

The Omron HJ-112 is designed to be carried in your pocket or your purse. It is rated as very accurate by a consumer testing group. In addition to counting steps, this pedometer is also capable of calculating miles walked, calories consumed and tracks aerobic steps (more than 60 steps/minute). It has a 7 day memory and the mechanism is very accurate and silent.

This is a highly accurate pedometer for walkers or runners who want to track running or walking workouts. This model is designed to wear on your waistband or in a pocket or purse. The unit should remain perpendicular to the ground but it is forgiving enough to be tilted or slanted, so long as it is not lying on its face or on its back relative to the ground. No value is given for the angle that you can not exceed but it stands to reason a bit of off angle and the pedometer will still be accurate.

This a very quiet pedometer with no clicking or rattling sounds. People find the clip very secure if you want to wear it on the waist. The HJ-112 uses a replaceable CR2032 battery, with a lifespan of 6 months on average.

Omron HJ-150 Pedometer

The HJ-150 pedometer is a simple step counting model with a 7 day memory. It is silent and is designed to be worn on the waist. The display shows your step counts and the time of day. One of the nice features about this pedometer is that it is impossible to reset accidentally. This is a big plus for people reaching down to reposition  the pedometer while walking or running while not taking much care on how they grab it.

This model does not come with a leash but will stay securely on your waistband. The display will power down after 5 minutes of non use and uses a replaceable CR2032 battery. If you want simple, accurate and quiet, then this is the one for you.

Omron HJ-720ITC Pedometer

This pedometer is a full featured model that tracks steps, aerobic steps, calories, distance and can even calculate fat burned if uploaded to a computer. This pedometer also has a high tolerance for tilting and will remain accurate over other models. This model does not have a trip counter like others and will reset automatically at midnight but the data is stored in memory for later use.

This pedometer can be worn as a necklace or in a breast pocket as well as on the waist. This is a big advantage over other lower priced models. It comes with a mini USB cable and software to upload your data into a program that can calculate and keep track of all your data with graphs and stats.
The replaceable battery has a 6 month lifespan with normal use.

Choosing a pedometer should not be that hard as you will know what you want to track and whether you want to wear it on a waistband as in a workout or keep in a pocket or purse to track data all day while at work or shopping.
