Cyborg RAT 7 Review

First Impression

Well I have to say that seeing the RAT line of mice for the first time totally blew me away. I finally have found a mouse design that takes into consideration your 2 outside fingers that usually end up dragging on the mouse pad making aiming a very difficult thing to do. Not to mention all of the other great design features built into these mice.

The first thing you notice looking at the RAT 7 is the non solid look it has and I mean that in a good way. Each section of the mouse is adjustable or interchangeable with other parts and it kind of looks like a transformer mouse.

The Frame

The frame of this mouse is made from solid lightweight aluminum which creates a very stiff and rigid core. Inside of this core is where the five 6 gram weights are kept that allow you to add or subtract weight to give you a perfect feel. If you don't use all of the weights at once the extras can be stored in a supplied case.

Performance

The Cyborg RAT 7 is one of those high end gaming mice that comes with 5600 dpi sensitivity along with a new generation "twin Eye Laser" sensor that has the ability to read each axis separately and can track up to 5.4 meters per second. No matter where you set your sensitivity the RAT 7 will always track precisely.

Grip Position

Whether you grip your mouse by the palm or the claw method you will be able to find the perfect ergonomic fit for your hand. The RAT can be adjusted in its length by moving the palm piece in and out. Also, the thumb plate can adjusted in and out from the body and forwards and backwards to give you perfect positioning for your thumb. In addition to these adjustments you can choose between 3 pinky plates for want of a better word that keep your outer 2 fingers off of the mouse pad. One plate is far wider than the other so personal preference will play a role here.

A Weighty Issue

As mentioned earlier, this mouse comes with five 6 gram weights that can be accessed from the rear of the body. Simply unscrew the rear nut and install or remove the weights to the amount that you find comfortable. One of the neat things that this mouse has is a tool that sits in the rear and can be accessed by unscrewing it. With this tool you can adjust all the plates by turning adjustment screws in or out. When you are done just replace it so you never lose it.

The Buttons

This mouse gives you 6 programmable buttons along with the 2 left and right keys on top. The thumb scroll wheel can be configured to do whatever you want like change weapons, spells or whatever you want.

Smart Technology Software

This mouse has 4 dpi settings that max out at 5600 dpi, 3 savable profiles and 1 button on the thumb that I call the "sniper shot" button. When you see your target and are going to set your cross hairs on it press this button and it will automatically decrease your sensitivity by 50% so you’re not going back and forth trying to get the target lined up. A great Idea! The only drawback to this design is that the profiles are saved and if you unplug it and move to another computer you have to reload the software on that computer as well as nothing is saved in the mouse.

An Overview of What it does

Three types and sizes of palm grips to choose from.
Three Swappable pinky grips to use.
Thumb rest is able to be moved in and out also up and down.
The unit is weight able, this is most important in gaming.
    Left and Right click
    Center click
    Center scroll wheel
    Thumb scroll (two way "up/down")
    Forward and back buttons
What I call the "sniper shot" button on the thumb.
    Mouse profile button
    Dpi up and down

This mouse when set up for your hand will most likely be the most comfortable mouse you have used to date. If you have a problem with your current mouse with your fingers dragging on the pad then this mouse will solve that. You also get a storage case that comes with the mouse to keep all the parts that you are not using in a safe place.

Saitek Cyborg Command Unit Review

Keypad Controller

The Saitek Cyborg Command Unit game pad controller tops out at 8 inches tall, 5.5 inches wide and is about 1.5 inches off the surface. This unit comes with a total of 21 buttons of which 20 are programmable.

Game Pad Layout

This mini keyboard is designed for a right handed person, i.e. uses the mouse with the  right hand and uses the keyboard with the left hand when gaming. The defining feature that makes this so is the thumb rest on the right side of the pad which can not be changed over to the other side. The thumb rest is very interesting in that there are 2 buttons that lie underneath your thumb and there is a thumb use joystick, albeit a mini one. There is a very healthy wrist rest that even the largest of hands should have no problem using this pad.

The overall takeaway from the layout is total ergonomic comfort. The back of the unit has a couple of pad strips that are covered in rubber to keep the unit in place during fast and furious action. If you use this device on your desk on the opposite from where your computer is you might have to reconfigure your equipment positioning as the USB cable is a bit shorter than most peripheral cables.

In the upper left hand side on the controller is a mode switch that allows you to toggle between FPS, Role Playing and MMO. Each one of these settings creates a different color on the board and they are Green, Yellow and Red. The keys of this board are laser etched and the light shines through with good efficiency for easy viewing in low light conditions.

The 18 main buttons are arranged in a layout normally found on the left side of a normal keyboard. Above the 11 main keys are the F1-F4 keys. There are 3 more keys that sit to the left of the main body of keys and above those 3 is the mode button. The other 3 keys are the 2 keys that are on the thumb rest and a key on the right side of the wrist pad. The thumb control area has a 2 way tilt function and can be slid forward and back.

The keys are mostly black with the WASD keys being silver. All of the keys are numbered and this will correspond to the action given it. The wrist rest area has a red stripe that lights up in the center. The key that is on this rest is your shift key and it is palm activated. This will take some time to get used to no doubt. The good news is that when you do get comfortable using your palm that frees up a finger for other keystrokes. One thing to note is that when the mode switch is changed and the keyboard color changes the red stripe on the wrist rest does not.

While the thumb joystick is useful, I would think most people will still use their mouse as it is more responsive in this case and it will reduce the number of things that your left hand has to do.

Configuration

Probably the best feature of this device is the SST programming software that you use to configure your pad for gaming as it is extremely easy to use. Just install the drivers and it will prompt you to plug in the unit. After installing test all of the keys and then install the software. You can use as long a macro as you wish and use as many shift states and profiles as you want. With the 3 modes and 21 keys you can program 144 commands. The only annoyance with this software is that you have to re-load the profile after a reboot of your system.

Conclusion

As with all of Saitek's products you will get a 2 year guarantee on the Cyborg Command Unit. Here are some of the pros and cons:

Pros:

Backlight Colors of Red, Green and Yellow
Easy to Configure with the SST software
    Custom Macros, up to 144

 Cons:

For Right-Hander’s only unless you want to forgo the thumb rest
    Short USB Cable
Commands Reset after You Restart Your Computer
Soft Keys (Don't make a "click" sound when pushed)

I would recommend this to anyone who has a lousy keyboard and was thinking of an upgrade to a gaming board but can't afford to go over say $45. This would also be an upgrade for a laptop application as well. But if you already have a decent gaming board I would not recommend this device.

Saitek Cyborg v.5 Review

Basic High Quality Design

The Saitek Cyborg v.5 keyboard will not wow you with gadgets and gizmos like some other higher end gaming keyboards but will satisfy the need for a good quality lower end gaming board.

It doesn't have an LCD screen like a Logitech or pass through USB and audio connections and the keys work on a membrane, not the noisy mechanical switches of higher end boards. This lack of features is offset by an abundance of ergonomic style that has made it a favorite among the gaming community helped along by its comparatively low price tag.

One of the features that this board has is its backlit keys. There are two illumination settings with which to chose from, a low to a higher red color. When this feature is turned on and you are in the dark, the light shines through the lettering symbols on top of the keys. This is great for playing at night and helping you to keep your bearings. Some of the illumination shines up from below around the keys as well and gives a very cool glow across the keypad. One drawback but hardly a concern for gaming is that the volume controls are not backlit. Usually once these are set you should not have to adjust your volume while in the game.

The keys on this board are great to use even though they are not especially responsive like mechanical keys, but compensate with a very smooth feel. If you are not used to using a keyboard that is this smooth it might take a bit of time but you will find it very comfortable to use. Another nice thing about this board is that there are no stand alone macro keys crammed onto the board so that you don't get a bunched up set of keys like some other higher end gaming boards. You will not have to readjust yourself to a new key pattern like some other gaming boards.

This keyboard is capable of recording 12 macros for the people in this world who use them and can be assigned to the function keys for added flexibility in games. It also has a polling rate of .5 KHz which is half of what most other gaming boards have but you will not notice the difference unless you are a hard core gamer. At my level it works just fine. Another good thing to have and this board does, is the anti-ghosting feature for the AWSD keys.

If you do not need the color changing controls like the Logitech G110 has or the LCD screen of some other boards or the pass through USB and audio, the mechanical key design or the separate macro keys, then for the price, this board is one that will serve you well. It's not flashy but it is very comfortable to use and is well built and robust. It is about as perfect a board as you will find for doing what most people need and still be a decent gaming board.

Saitek Cyborg v.7 Review

Saitek makes It Real

When we set out to put together a gaming system a lot of thought goes into what components to use, and what peripherals to choose. Yet when it comes to the keyboard most people settle for the piece of junk that they had with their previous system thinking it will do. Yet it is the keyboard that is the main input connection to the computer and if you are a gamer this input becomes critical. So, why do people overlook this very important part of the system? Because they don't know any better and most people, even gamers don't realize that the keyboard can be a high performance piece of gear that will make a difference in performance and in ease of typing for non gamers.

Here Is What the Cyborg v.7 Can Do

First off, this keyboard features multicolor back lighting called Tru-Vu illuminations that allow you to create the mood you want by mixing shades from red through amber to green. There is also a touch sensitive control panel to configure your lighting scheme, volume and media controls. Certain keys such as the WASD, cursor and number pad keys can be independently lit from the rest of the keyboard so you can easily pick them out in an instant.

Some other features of this keyboard are 12 programmable keys for storing useful macros such as opening your e-mail or internet or for some game battle function. There is a pass through USB, audio and microphone sockets so you never have to crawl behind your computer again. There is also an adjustable wrist rest and a keyboard angle adjustment for the front and back of up to an inch. Finally, something no other keyboard has at least by my knowledge is that the main gaming keys that are used have metal top to help with the wear and tear that happens with extreme gaming.

The key design for this board is of the membrane type which results in a very positive and quiet usage but you should note that this board is designed for gaming. There are two modes for this keyboard, normal and Cyborg game mode. When you are in game the Windows keys are automatically disabled and you can also now adjust the lighting scheme to suit your tastes. When not in game mode you can't adjust the lighting.

Cyborg V7 Keyboard Main Features

    12 programmable Macro keys
    Multi-color backlighting 3 colors
    Touch-sensitive, backlit media control panel
    Independent keyset illumination
    Game mode key
Enhanced multiple key presses in gaming areas for complex in-game commands.
Adjustable wrist rest and keyboard rake angle (front and back).
    Powerful ST Profile programming software
Pass-through USB, audio and microphone sockets, gold plate connections
Cyborg Macro keys placed on both sides of the keyboard

Drawbacks Of The Cyborg V7

There have been some negative things noted with this keyboard, but all in all I would say they are a minor nuisance. One gripe is the user manual is not very instructive and does not offer any good usage advice. Also, the software tends to be weak in the user interface area and in the profile editor area. It has also been noted that some of the gaming keys are sub standard such as the gaming keys and the space bar. Another nuisance is that the profile editor has to be re-opened and re activated every time the computer is restarted.

In a nutshell this is a decent keyboard for gaming but could use some improvements in the software and the space bar feel.

Razer Imperator Review

Here Is What You Get

If you have never bought a Razer mouse before then the first thing you will notice about the product is the packaging it is in. Packaged in a nice black box it features the mouse well so you can see most of it without taking it out. Upon opening you will find a quick install guide, a Macintosh guide, a complete instruction manual, a coaster for your desk, a cert of authenticity, a Razer product catalog and 2 logo stickers all nicely packaged in black envelope.

This mouse has 7 buttons in all which includes two adjustable thumb buttons and 2 other small buttons that sit at the base of the scroll wheel. The scroll wheel is like most wheels with the clicky feel to it but it has no tilt action. The mouse body is all black with a rubbery material on the top with the sides a glossy smooth plastic. There is a Razer logo on top of the mouse that is lighted a blue color and on both sides of the scroll wheel as well.

Another nice touch is with the connection via a gold plated USB connector that is attached to a 7 foot braided cable. Most people would consider this an improvement over the old style thin cord that used to tangle up very easily.

Setting It Up

For those of you not inclined to setting up a mouse with software you will be happy to know that this mouse works great right out of the box. just plug it in and away you go. But not setting it up deprives you of some of the best features of this device. All you need to do is download a 27Mb file and that will give you the ability to program all of the buttons, set up the dpi settings levels and control cursor settings. There is a slide switch underneath the mouse that will adjust the thumb buttons forward and back for you.

This mouse like all other Razer's top mice is a joy to use and extremely responsive. It uses the same 3.5 laser as all the other top products and offers the same sensitivity of up to 5,600dpi with on the fly adjustability. The 2 buttons on the top of the mouse change your dpi level settings. The polling rate is also the same as the Mamba top model at 1 KHz. The buttons on this model are firm and responsive and the scroll wheel feels good and solid and smooth.

While the adjustable thumb buttons are a welcome addition which creates a small shelf to rest your thumb I am still waiting for a mouse design that comes out with an extension of the base on the outside of the mouse so you can rest your 2 outside  fingers. I don't know how many times I have found myself trying to place my cross hairs on a target when sniping only to find my fingers dragging on the mouse pad. It's so irritating because most of the time you don't know you are doing it then it's to late. Oh well, maybe down the road we might see that fixed.

To conclude now that I have my gripe out of the way, it is a breath of fresh air to see the adjustable thumb buttons and the high polling rate for this mouse. With the comfortable ergonomic feel as well as tactile feel this mouse is very solid if you can afford it.

Razer Mamba Review

Razer’s new mouse, the Mamba comes to the market with some very interesting features and a price to go with it. Razer claims that this is the world’s first truly wireless gaming mouse. While there are a lot of wireless mice that have preceded this mouse, what is Razer trying to say?  Well basically that they are the first to come out with a mouse that has a 1ms response time where the industry is currently at 8 ms response time. This makes the Mamba the most responsive mouse on the market to date.

The average user would be very hard pressed to notice any difference compared to a normal wireless mouse. Only the most hardcore competitive gamers will see an improvement here. But what most people will see a difference in is the absolutely solid and exact pointing that is achieved with this device. It has the capability of 5,600dpi laser sensitivity and uses a precise 3.5G laser. That in itself is a lot to offer but this mouse keeps going.

This mouse has all the right curves in all the right places. It has a nearly symmetrical design that makes it comfortable in either hand except for the thumb buttons on the side that makes the design more biased towards righties. The mouse has rubber grips on both sides of the mouse that help with getting a grip whether you have smooth and comfortable. The body has a matte finish which helps with grip and is very comfortable. The right and left buttons have a crisp tactile feel while being very sensitive.

The software that you can download from the Razer website lets you configure custom button settings with an almost limitless configurability and also to set macros. Any button on the Mamba can be set to a specific profile and if you want, further imbed that into another profile. That allows you to set profiles by the game and down to game roles. There is also a capability to record macros in the software.

As mentioned earlier the laser sensitivity has been boosted to 5,600dpi which tends to be a bit of overkill but could be useful for competitive gamers who might need this resolution. But what is more useful is the improvement in the polling rate to 1 GHz which will ensure no connection lag in the wireless mode or even wired.

This mouse has five settings for the laser sensitivity that can be toggled by buttons that are on the top left corner of the device. There are a row of lights on the lower  left side of the mouse that change color to indicate what sensitivity  setting you are  playing at.

The Mamba's battery is a polymer lithium ion rechargeable battery. Razer has said that on a complete charge you can use this mouse continuously for 14 hours or 72 hours with on and off use. This mouse also allows you to plug in via a USB port on the front of the mouse. If you are in the middle of a game and you notice your battery getting low just plug in the USB and continue playing and it will recharge as well. If you don’t want to recharge via the USB you can put the mouse in its own recharging docking port.

This mouse will work in both wired and wireless modes and has a very good looking docking port which has back lighting circling the base and it illuminates the pairing button. The unit comes with a mini USB cable so when you open it up you are good to go with everything you need.

Razer Zone

Razer has a huge selection of gaming mice, mats, pads, keyboards, audio, controllers and other gaming gear and accessories. But they are probably best known for their gaming mice collection. Here is an overview of what Razer sells.

Gaming Mice

The gaming mice lineup comes in several product lines listed below:

    Elite
    Expert
    Essential
    Ergonomic
    Mobile
    MMO
    Ambidextrous
    Left Hand

The Elite class of mouse has three models to choose from, the Razer Mamba, Razer Naga Epic and the Razer Orochi. The Naga Epic is part of the MMO line and the Orochi is from the mobile line of mice.

The next line of mice to look at is the Expert line. These are one step below the Elite in capability and price. There are five models to choose from and they are the Razer Naga Molten, Razer Naga, Battlefield 3 Razer Imperator, Razer Imperator and the Razer Lachesis. All five of these models are at the same price.

The next level is the Essential line of mice that basically comprise various versions of the Death Adder mouse. The exceptions to this are two models called the Razer Abyssus Mirror and the Razer Abyssus.

The Ergonomic class of mice is basically comprised of select models from the 3 previous classes noted from above. Basically the Death Adder models, the Naga models, the Imperator models and the Mamba.

The Mobile class of mice has 2 models in it and they are the Razer Orochi Black Chrome and the Razer Orochi.

Their MMO series of mice comprise the Naga series and there are 3 of them. They are the Razer Naga Epic, Razer Naga Molten and the Razer Naga.

For the final Ambidextrous series it is comprised of the 2 Orochi models, the 2 Abyssus models and the 1 Lachesis model as well as the Tron gaming mouse and the Starcraft II Razer Spectre.

Gaming Keyboards

Similarly to mice, the gaming keyboards come in several levels as well:

    Elite
    Expert
    Essential
    Standard
    Mechanical
    MMO
    Keypads

The Elite keyboard series is comprised of 4 models that come from the Mechanical line of keyboards and they are the Razer Black Widow Ultimate Stealth, Battlefield Black Widow Ultimate, Black Widow Ultimate and finally the Dragon Age II Black Widow Ultimate. It looks like they are considered Elite due to pricing I am sure as well as capability.

The Expert level has 5 models and they are the Black Widow, Anansi, Nostromo, Lycosa and the Lycosa Mirror.

The Essential line has only 1 model in as of this writing and it is the Razer Arctosa.

The Standard models have 3 in it, the Razer Lycosa, Razer Lycosa Mirror and the Razer Arctosa (Essential).

The Mechanical series is simply just the 5 Black Widow models.

The MMO series is the Razer Anansi model and the keypad is the Razer Nostromo.

Gaming Audio

Once again the audio products fall into these categories:

    Elite
    Expert
    Essential
    Analog Headsets
    USB Headsets
    Xbox 360/PC Headsets
    Analog Headphones
    Speaker Systems

The audio products for this company are extensive and have a wide range of performance. The first group is the Elite. There are 2 models in this series and them

Next is the Expert line and the 2 models are the Razer Carcharias and the Razer Orca.

The Essential line has 3 models to choose from and they are the Razer Electra, Razer Piranha and the Razer Moray.

Analog headsets include again the Razer Carcharias, Razer Electra and the Razer Piranha.

The USB line has 1 model to choose and it is the Razer Megalodon.

The Xbox line consists of the Razer Chimaera and the Razer Chimaera 5.1.

The Analog headphone is the Razer Orca and the Earphones consist of the Razer Moray+ and the Moray and the Speaker system is the Razer Ferox.

Razer also sells many other product lines such as gaming controllers, licensed gaming products, a full line of gaming accessories and an extensive line of gaming gear which is far too much to go into here.

My name is Allan Stewart and I have several websites dedicated to health and well being for people and pets as well as product information. Want to learn more about Razer products, go to: Razer Mamba Review Or visit my website at Razer Zone for more information about Razer products.

Victorinox Watches

Victorinox, known for their high precision knives have been taking that precision and applying that into a complete line of watches. Their styles of watches have changed over the years and a lot of new models have been added.

There are many models and classes of watches offered by Victorinox. Below are the many classes of watch they offer broken down by function.

    Active
    Classic
    Professional
    Limited Editions
    Chronograph
    Alarm
    Titanium

There are mainly three categories of Victorinox Swiss Army watches: Active, Classic and Professional.

If you are looking for a particular function in a watch that you want to wear everyday then you might want to look at the active styles. Some selected models can operate up to 330 feet underwater.

People who need to use their watches at night would want to look at the Night Vision styles that use a low power consumption LED module for the dial illumination, signal and the strobe function.

Another great style is the Base Camp models. These are great for avid hikers and they have a rotating compass rose that indicates direction and have great endurance and functionality.

Then there is the Classic series that are a sporty classic look with clean lines and a stylish look. While they are traditional they have very innovative design features.

My favorite category is the one that is targeted towards the high tech people. They consist of the following types:

    Divemaster 500
    Airboss
    Seaplane

About Hydration Systems

Dakine Hydration Packs

Going on a long and intense ride can get you dehydrated in a hurry and is a sure way to compromise your performance and take all of the fun out of your ride. The best way to avoid this is to carry a hydration system with you on your back. Most systems are in the 2-3 liter range in capacity and allow you to sip water or whatever you fill the reservoir with without having to use your hands. A convenient tube supply's the water to your mouth so you can drink whenever you like.

It is so much easier than having to reach down for a bottle and a lot safer too. Some people add in an energy drink to the water to help enhance performance and stamina. A good idea when buying one of these systems is to get a good cleaning kit for the reservoir. If you don't you might be buying a replacement sooner than you think. Note that different makes and models combine different reservoir capacities as well as storage capacities. With these wide range of cargo options you can carry everything from a snack bar to all the gear you will need for a full day's outing.

Acne Cures Straight From Your Home

A Natural Way to Treat Your Skin

It can be a major headache to find a reliable cure for your acne. What makes it so difficult is that everybody has a different skin type which means different things work for different skin types. What a lot of people don't realize is that there are a lot of things you can try at home with some very simple ingredients. Here are a few options you can try.

A great product to try is Aloe Vera. It is very effective option if it is taken internally and the juice from the plant can be applied externally to the skin that has acne.

Blend up a cucumber to the point where it becomes a paste. Pour the paste into a bowl and apply liberally to your face. Leave the paste on your face for about 30 minutes. Then wash your face by thoroughly rinsing with water. This treatment acts as a fantastic prevention cream to help in preventing new flare-ups of acne.

Another great treatment for acne is to take fresh garlic and crush it but not too much. Now take that and rub it onto the face and all over the acne and blemishes. While this will not smell very good, it will do a very good job as garlic contains a strong antiseptic that will have the effect of drying out your acne.

Applying egg whites to your acne skin for 15-20 minutes can do the trick as well. This remedy seems a bit far fetched but give it a try for a few days and see if you get any results.

Another home remedy to try involves fruits and vegetables. These are good for a number of things including the treatment of acne. Blend these ingredients together, 1 peeled apple, half of a cucumber and 1 tablespoon of honey and 1 of yogurt. Take this concoction and apply to your face for around 20 minutes. After, rinse with lukewarm water and pat dry with a soft towel.

There are a lot of different kings of pastes that you can make that can work as an acne cure. One of them is made from powdered Neem leaves and water. Another recipe is to grind up orange peels and mix with water. You can also make a paste from avocado and water and use it as a morning wash or use before you go to bed at night.

The list could go on and on with listing home remedies for acne treatments. The point here is to try one at a time for a week or two and see how it works. If it does not work in a reasonable amount of time then move on too the next remedy. Just remember that everyone’s skin type is different and reacts differently to the various methods listed here. This is why it is crucial to be patient and trying these remedies on a trial and error basis until you find what works for you.

Common Acne Mistakes You Can Make

Acne Product Mistakes

It's great to have options when looking for a treatment for your acne as it can be a huge waste of time and money if you don't know what you are looking for. With so many options to choose from it can be a very difficult process to choose one product from another. A lot of people make simple mistakes that cost them time and money while their acne condition drags on without resolve.

When you go to a store to buy an acne product you don't want to buy just any product you see on the shelf. It is very important to take your time and read the label and to know what you are getting as ingredients in the product. Using a trial and error approach can work in evaluating each product but if you know what ingredients work and what they do then your choice of a product will become a lot easier.

As a rule most people never look at the ingredients of the food they buy. But you can’t do that when looking for an acne product. Once again, knowing what is in the product and knowing what those ingredients do will go a long way to solving your acne.

Minor Acne

You will want to look for products with herbs and natural ingredients if you are a person that has a minor acne condition. If on the other hand you are suffering from a case of severe acne that has been waged for a while now then you will want to step up your treatment strength to a product that contains peroxide. This one of the best ingredients you can use because it cleans the skin and is great for killing bacteria deep into the pores of your skin.

Some people who are fighting acne find that they need to alter their lifestyle as well as find the right product to get results that send them in the right direction. Another thing you need to avoid is putting all of your faith into one product. There are so many different products out there because of the fact that people have so many different skin types.

As one product may not get the job done you will want to do some things that may be out of your normal routine. First, start exercising if you don't already, wash your face no more than 2 times a day with warm water and unscented soap and pat dry your face with a soft towel. Last thing; change your diet to help keep your skin healthy.

One major mistake to avoid is not giving a product enough time to work if you are not seeing immediate results. Everyone wants that miracle cure that will work overnight but it is important to know that medication like this takes time to work and take effect. Another thing to remember is medication that tends to have a gradual effect tend to be more effective than those products that claim to work overnight.

How To Cure Acne And Compliment Dry Skin

Cure Acne

Many people who use products to combat acne find that when the condition is vanquished they are left with the condition of flaky and dry skin. There is no reason to put up with this condition as there are numerous treatments available. You can maintain healthy soft smooth skin while doing your acne treatments. It’s a matter of avoiding harsh chemicals and treating your skin from within and from the outside.

Acne and Your Skin

The first thing you need to do to keep your skin soft and smooth is to drink a lot of water. As you probably know, drinking water is vital to cleaning out your system by cleansing the body of toxins and waste out of the skin cells and the blood stream. You should drink about 8 glasses of water a day to help maintain healthy skin. Having a well hydrated body helps not just with your skin but your whole body system. This first step is crucial to achieving an acne free skin.

Drinking water does a couple of things that are very beneficial to your skin. First, as mentioned above it removes toxins from the body. This will have the effect of preventing your pores from clogging up which in turn reduces the acne problem by helping to clear up your blemishes. The other positive effect is that drinking water will hydrate your skin and prevent it from drying out. This also goes a long way in preventing your pores from clogging up.

Another way to prevent dry skin while doing your acne regimen is use a skin cleanser that is specifically made for your skin condition. An example of this is using a foamy cleanser for oily skin conditions that is usually recommended by doctors. Although there is no one cleanser that will work for everyone make sure that whatever you use that it does not have harsh chemicals in it like peroxide. This one step will go a long way to keeping your skin in good condition.

An ingredient that is crucial to maintaining healthy skin and helping to cure your acne is a moisturizing cream. Dermatologists do recommend using lots of moisturizer to help maintain your skin and will not aggravate your acne condition. Lotions and creams can be greasy and will worsen your skin condition. So try to stick to a gel product as gels are non-comedogenic and will not clog up your pores and are not greasy.

There are so many treatments out there that contain harsh chemicals that will dry out your skin. You may just want to stop using a product or products for a little while. If you can't seem to find a product that works for whatever reason then you might want to seek out the advice of a dermatologist to help you find the right product. Just remember that your skin can become irritated by overusing medication. No one person is going to have the same skin type so a trial and error time will be needed to find the right products.

Ingredients To Look For In Natural Cure Acne Products

Acne and Skin Types

The market is flooded with acne treatment products that all claim to be the one that will cure your acne. While all of these products work to varying degrees what will make one product work for someone and not work for someone else is that everyone has different skin types. Despite this there is good news as there are specific ingredients that you can look for in a natural acne treatment that are extremely effective. When looking for a product for your acne look for these ingredients and you will be on your way to finding the right product that works best for you.

Acne Cure Ingredients

The first ingredient to look for is a topical application that has salicylic acid in it. It works by dissolving whiteheads and removing dead skin cells that get trapped inside of your hair follicles. This is what causes your pores to clog up and create acne. This topical application can sting at first and may cause mild redness the first few days but it is very effective at getting the job done.

One of the most active ingredients in natural cure acne treatments is benzoyl peroxide. It is extremely effective in treating acne. Benzoyl peroxide is a very powerful anti bacterial ingredient and is the most active of ingredients in a natural acne treatment. This ingredient helps to remove bacteria from the follicles and also works to dissolve comedones which will help prevent the formation of acne. The strength of the benzoyl peroxide, usually from 2.5 - 10% worth is determined by the severity of the acne condition.

Another ingredient that is very beneficial in treating your acne is isotretinoin.  This chemical helps to reduce the production of oil in the skin. It also helps to soothe inflammation from cysts, pustules and pimples. It can also help to clear your pores and breakup any clogging that develops there. The only negative with this ingredient is that it can cause flaking and dryness of the skin.

Natural cure acne products have a fourth ingredient that delivers great results and that is sulfur. It is normally not used as a stand alone product but it is very effective at removing dead skin cells and removing excessive oil. A product that contains sulfur can cause some soreness of the skin when first starting its use. If the soreness does not clear up over time you should stop using the product.

The final ingredient you will find in natural acne cure products is antibiotics. This ingredient comes in an oral form or as a topical cream and can keep acne from spreading throughout your body by killing bacteria. It can also prevent scarring of the skin at the same time.

When shopping for the best natural acne cure refer to these ingredients and try to find a product that has one of these ingredients in it. If you do, you will greatly improve your chances of having a positive effect on your acne condition.

Medications To Avoid When Looking To Cure Acne

Medications

There are countless products that you can research on the internet such as lotions, creams and a varied amount of alternative treatments to help you treat your acne. But what most people don't know is that there are many medications and products that can have an adverse effect on your condition and that you should steer clear of.

Medications to Stay Away From

One of the medications to stay away from for treating acne is a group of drugs called corticosteroids. These drugs are basically fake hormones and are used for treating hives and eczema. Because hormones have a direct relationship with acne, there is a problem with using corticosteroids because they can contribute to the problem of acne. If you are using this drug and need to cure your acne you might want to reduce the dosage or stop using it all together. Because this is a drug that is prescribed by a doctor you should consult with them before making any changes in your use of this drug.

There have been a lot of news stories in the last few years on one type of drug in particular and that involves athletes using steroids, and they are called Anabolic-androgenic steroids. Athletes that have been caught using these drugs have been fined, suspended or had their careers ended for using them. There are some extremely negative side effects from using these but the one that concerns us here is that using these can contribute to the buildup of acne. Acne is generated in men on the back, shoulders and chest while women see a buildup of acne on the face.

If you are using sedatives to treat stress, anxiety and restlessness and have acne then you need to look at stopping this drug. These are known as barbiturates, and they are highly addictive and are known to cause acne. If you are looking to cure your acne and are on these drugs you might want to look at changing your prescription.

Another medication that needs to be looked at is lithium. It is a mood stabilizer that helps people suffering with bi-polar disorder and depression. It works great for calming nerves and helping to regulate brain functions but it has been shown to cause acne breakouts. If you are on lithium and are experiencing an acne condition you might look into switching medications or find an acne treatment that is compatible with lithium.

Last but not least, is a drug called Dehydropiandrosterone which is also known as DHEA. You want to avoid this drug also known as an anti-aging hormone if you want to cure your acne. When you take this drug it is converted into testosterone by the body and has the effect of clogging your pores. You can experience a buildup of acne in various parts of the body.

There are many different kinds of medications, lotions and creams that can help you treat acne. However, taking any of the above medications can make it very difficult to cure your acne as each one contributes to the problem.

Natural Acne Remedies

Natural Cure for Acne

It is a major overreaction by most people that when they see a pimple to at once turn to medications or lotions to treat it. But you do not have to cover your face with lotions and creams to eliminate acne. You can apply some very simple lifestyle adjustments and apply a natural cure for acne that is just as or even better.

The oil that accumulates on your skin attracts dirt day and night and thus it is important to wash your face at least once and maybe 2 times a day with warm water and an unscented soap. If you do not wash sometime during the day, you are allowing dirt to attract to your skin and getting trapped in your pores causing acne. Despite this simple preventative measure, people who are prone to acne either do not follow this regimen or over do it by too much washing.

If you do not want to use soap, as some people think it dies their skin too much, try using a facial wash that you can buy at the grocery store or pharmacy. I have had great results with using a ph balanced cleanser and soap. Make sure that when you are done washing that you pat your skin dry with a soft towel so as not irritate your skin.

If you are a woman, then one of the easiest natural fixes to this problem is to use a water based make-up. When you use an oil based make-up it will clog up your pores very quickly and that is just asking for acne to appear. But, even if you are going to use a water based make-up, be sure that you remove it before going to bed. The three steps to removing are, cleansing, toning and moisturizing. This will remove excessive oil and dirt that has built up over the day.

Another tip to help is to avoid going in or too dusty and dirty areas. This might seem innocuous but if you have been in a dusty area try to wash your face at once. This dirt will immediately begin to mix with the oil on your skin and begin to react with it to create clogged pores.

Also on the list is to try and not touch your face with your fingers or hands. This transfers dirt from your hands to your face and is just another source of dirt that you can easily avoid. You're getting enough dirt on your face as it is so doing this one simple thing will greatly help out.

In the same vein as hands on your face you should also keep and loose hair off of your face as well. You do want to wash your hair on a regular basis to keep it clean just like your face. Your scalp can be the starting point for acne as the scalp produces a lot of oil. This makes the hair oily and if it falls onto your face that oil is transferred to your facial skin. This can be a cause or an adding condition to your acne.

The final thing to help you achieve and maintain a healthy complexion is to drink as much water as you can. Water is the mainstay of removing toxins and waste from your body which will not only help your complexion but your general health as well.

Understanding Causes To Better Cure Acne

Curing Acne Skin

Treating acne can be a complex diagnosis so understanding the root cause or causes is needed to get it right. These causes are both internal and external conditions and addressing both will go a long way to curing your acne skin by determining the appropriate treatment. Getting the advice from a doctor to help you will go a long way to controlling or curing your acne if you have a severe condition.

Acne External Factors

First off, the easiest starting point for this evaluation is the external factors. For example, stop using any skin care products that are irritating your skin condition. These just make matters worse. The negative thing here is that you won't know which products are causing a problem until you try them.

Another main concern and a serious external factor are being in the sun. Try to limit your exposure to the sun as this will cause skin damage and aggravate the acne condition. If you are serious about curing your acne, limit the amount of time you are in the sun and apply a sunscreen at all times using a level that blocks completely.

The third factor to consider is how you wash or clean your skin. It is very important to wash your skin with soap and warm water everyday but do limit it to no more than 2 times a day. Washing you face just once a day is the normal recommendation, but if you have very oily skin than washing it 2 times a day is ok. Also, do not pick at or squeeze the acne as this has the effect of pushing the bacteria deeper into your skin and also further irritates it.

Acne Internal Factors

Having looked at the external factors to acne let's now look at some of the internal factors that cause acne so that you can begin to cure your acne condition. The very first thing to look at is a bacterium called the P. Acnes. This bacterium lives on our skin and is the leading causes of acne. The bacteria attract white blood cells into an area and produce an enzyme that causes redness and inflammation. So, by treating for these bacteria you can reduce the inflammation that causes acne.

Another internal factor is a material called sebum. This fills up your hair follicles and gives your skin an oily appearance on the surface. Sebum has the function in our skin of making it waterproof and also carries dead skin cells to the surface or exterior of the skin. During this process, some hair follicles will become plugged or obstructed which traps the sebum causing a blemish and acne.

And the last internal factor to look at is really a wild card because it relies on a person’s genetics. This is a factor when a person’s skin thickness comes into play, the oiliness of their skin and hormonal levels in their body. These conditions can make acne a certainty for some and non existent for others.

Why Washing Too Much Aggravates Acne

When To See Your Doctor

As a quick disclaimer, it is always advisable to get a doctor's or dermatologists opinion about getting a treatment for acne. If you are over 25 and you now suffer from severe acne, especially if you had mild or no acne as a teen, it would be a very good idea to visit your doctor. It could be that you have a skin condition that is causing the acne.

Keeping It Clean

There is no doubt that you want to keep your face as clean as possible so you maintain a healthy vibrant skin condition. But it is very important to realize that you can over do the washing and that will have the reverse effect of curing your acne. You must find a balance of too little and too much washing to give you a glowing face.

Over washing your face will actually do more harm than good. This is especially true for people who wash 5 or 6 times a day and apply numerous moisturizers, creams or medications as this will actually make the condition worse. What you will probably end up with is overly dry or overly oily skin.

With all of the cleansers and creams available on the market today it is sometimes just better to wash your face in lukewarm water and a little soap. No one wants a face filled with blemishes which can be very painful and unsightly to say the least. The point here is that you do not need to spend a lot of money on various chemical or lotion products to clean your face.

Since no one has the same skin as the next person you may not be able to just wash with soap and water as some skin types will require something else altogether. This is why some people should consult a dermatologist for advice about the possibility of using a cream or med on their face. There are several brands out there that may be beneficial for some skin types.

The point here is to keep the treatment simple. If you find that washing once a day is working for you and don't notice any increase in your condition then keep that up.  Remember that after you wash to pat your skin dry with a soft towel and do not rub the area. If you have a doctor who has prescribed any meds for you, continue to wash once a day but do not exceed this amount.

As mentioned above too much washing your face can have negative consequences for your skin. Rubbing your face too hard with a towel can cause the lesions to rupture causing more infections on your face thus making it that much harder to cure.

Remember, acne is caused by the excessive secretion of oils in the skin pores which attracts dirt and bacteria. Keeping the skin clean but not excessively is the key here. Aggravating or sensitizing your skin just makes the condition worse and harder to treat.

What Not To Feed Sugar Gliders

For those people, who may be wondering what they should not be feeding sugar  gliders, this article may be of some help. Following is a list of some foods that  people should never feed to these pets, as well as, some foods that many people may  be feeding sugar gliders, but that are highly controversial. A great rule of thumb  is that if people are unsure of whether to feed something to their sugar glider,  then it would probably be best not to feed it to them at all. It comes down to the  old adage, better safe than sorry.

Some foods that people should never feed their suggies include garlic, cheese, fried foods, chives, chocolate, coffee, raw eggs, leeks, processed meat, onions, millet,
tea, soda, scallions, raw meat, rhubarb, salt and soda. Other foods people should  avoid feeding their gliders are sugar, milk, peanuts or various insects. They should also never feed them baby food that contains either garlic or onion and canned  foods, as they contain salt and sugar. Some foods that sugar gliders can eat, but  only in small quantities include dog food, iceberg lettuce, various nuts and  sunflower seeds. As far as insects go, some are allowed and you should contact an  exotic veterinarian to find out what kinds and how much to feed and when.

Although many sugar glider owners feed their pets tofu and soy products, many  breeders do not like this idea as research has shown that tofu can adversely affect  the animal's digestive system. Although these studies did not focus on sugar  gliders, there is still controversy as to the effects of tofu upon the glider's  digestive system, as well.

Grapes and raisins are other foods that many people commonly feed these pets.  However, some breeders have found that there may be a connection between suggies  eating these foods and kidney failure. This is true for other animals, as well.

Other foods, that people commonly feed their gliders, are fruit pits, fruit skins  and fruit seeds. While there is controversy among some breeders as to whether people should remove the pits, skin and seeds from fruit before they feed them to these  pets, there is no solid reason as to why. Most suggies will not eat the pits, skin  and seeds anyway; however, it is always best to be safe and remove them.

Cat food is another food that people commonly feed their suggies. However, breeders  insist that a diet of cat food can cause the gliders to have a vast array of health  problems. Some of the health problems, that these pets could incur from eating cat  food as their main diet, include lumpy jaw syndrome, intestinal blockage and even  death.

In conclusion, the above foods are only a partial list of the foods that suggies  should not eat. Again, if people are not sure whether or not they should feed  something to their pet, they simply should not feed it to them. When in question,  the best person to consult about the proper diet for sugar gliders is one's  veterinarian.

So, you've gotten your sugar gliders home and want to teach them some tricks to show off to your friends? Well here's a good starting point. Sugar gliders love to jump, glide, somersault, swing and pretty much do anything that lets them be in the air which is in their nature.

The first step to teaching your sugar glider tricks is to bond with it. Try to be sure to have a few days off when you first receive your gliders. Keep them with you at all times for the first day or two. They have to adjust to their new surroundings, just like every other kind of pet, but because they are so small, they are easily frightened and need a safe place to run to. Spending time caring for and being gentle with them will help establish you as the safe place. Make sure that you don't act nervous around them, or they'll think they are the boss and training them goes right out the window. Once your gliders are acclimated to you, you can begin trying different treats. Finding a treat your sugar gliders really enjoy gives you a good reward to give them when they do something you want them to do.

An easy trick to try first is jumping to you from a tall spot in your house. Place your glider on a high shelf and hold a treat in your hand a reasonable distance away. Snap your fingers or call out to your glider to jump. It's a good idea to decide on the commands you want your glider to learn before you begin training. That way you can be consistent throughout the training period.

How long you spend training your sugar glider is dependent on a number of factors. For example, how old was the glider before you got it, how long do you spend with your glider everyday and are you trying to teach him to do something he normally does but on command? Answering these questions will help you determine how long it should take to teach your sugar glider tricks.

Remember, gliders can learn simple commands like "no", "get down" and "come", but will not be potty trained. That is just not in their nature. Training your sugar glider can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks, depending on your training regimen and how much work you put into it. For some, they keep training their glider over and over again. The thinking behind this tactic is repetition keeps the training fresh and implanted in the mind of the glider.

However you decide to train your glider, remember to be consistent. Offer the treats for the same reasons. Don't give them a treat just because they're so adorable. Use it as a training tool to get them to do what you want, within reason of course. It will only make it that much harder to train your glider if you abuse this tactic.

Needs Of A Baby Sugar Glider

What You Need To Do

Sugar gliders are delivered into their mother’s pouch just 16 days after conception, where they live for 60 to 75 days, nursing on their mother’s breast milk. The earlier a baby is removed from its mother, the more time consuming will be the challenge of raising it to maturity. In the event that a glider is rejected by its mother, or its mother, dies they can be hand raised and fed a milk supplement. This method of feeding sometimes works on these tiny marsupials if one has the time and devotion to put forth this commitment. This feeding method will require a small dropper of some type like an eye dropper. The food needs to be placed on the gliders lips and not forced down its throat. The glider should be wrapped in a warm blanket or towel with its head up and feet down, as if it were suckling its mother.

It is recommended that one keep their glider close to their body, which helps with the bonding process. This will also help keep the glider warm. Their body temperature is almost ten degrees lower than ours, so we feel like a cozy blanket to them. This is especially important with the gliders that no longer have the protection of their mothers pouch. Sugar glider needs are much greater to the underdeveloped babies and the risk of dehydration is prevalent. One must take precautions to prevent this from occurring. When the sugar glider is still being hand fed, water can also be introduced with the dropper to aid in hydration between feedings.

Sugar glider needs for bedding require that the area is in the 80 to 85 degree Fahrenheit range, which is the temperature range in which they thrive. An incubator is recommended by some if the need arises for raising a very young glider. This will enable you to provide a stable, draft free environment.

An incubator can be a container of some kind like a small fish tank or bucket with holes drilled in it. Using a pet heater or heating blanket to wrap on the outside works well to keep the incubator warm. The bedding for your glider needs to be a biodegradable fiber that contains no oils or chemicals that can harm the sugar glider. Sugar gliders, like many small animals, like to burrow into their bedding to stay warm and to feel safe.

The Sugar glider needs when handling an underdeveloped baby are very dependent on the human parents. It may be necessary to assist the baby’s needs regarding bowel functions. A Q-tip, dampened in warm water can be used to stimulate the babies bowl movements by gently wiping it over the baby’s lower abdomen and genitalia. After your glider is a little older it will need no stimulation and should defecate on its own. If your glider does not defecate for a 24 hour period, you should seek medical attention as gliders can develop blockages or other maladies.

5 Rules To Buying A Sugar Glider

Things To Check Before Buying A Sugar Glider

Sugar gliders are becoming very popular pets in the U.S. There are a few things that you need to keep in mind before you buy one though. Here are just 5 things to do or check before you commit to buying a glider.

The very first thing you should check before buying a glider is if they are legal in your state or town. Some states allow sugar gliders without having to have a license, in others you have to buy the glider from a USDA licensed breeder, and still others say you need an exotic animal license to own a sugar glider. Once you have checked out your state, check your town as well. It is entirely possible for gliders to be allowed in a state but the town's laws could say that they are illegal.

Once you have determined the legality of owning a glider, there are w few other things you should check before buying sugar gliders. One of these is concern for the other people in the house, if there are any. Gliders are nocturnal and can disturb the other household members at night. Gliders also have their own smell (which can be controlled) that some people find offensive. It is best for everyone involved to make sure the entire household is alright with you buying a glider.

A second thing to check is your local veterinarians. Gliders are exotic animals and need an exotic animal vet in your area. Not all vets can take care of gliders so it is vital that you find a vet that can before buying sugar gliders.

The next thing you should do is make sure you have enough room for a glider cage. Sugar gliders are arboreal, meaning the live in tree tops and like to climb on things. Because of this they need a large cage, the smallest suggested cage is 36x18x18. Once you have figured out the cage size needed, you have to figure out where you are going to put it. You should never put your gliders cage in direct sunlight or under a heater/air conditioner vent.

You should choose somewhere that you will be able to spend some quality time with your glider. You could consider the far corner of your bedroom, away from the door and windows, or even a corner in the living room if you want your glider to be a family pet that is interacting with other members of the family.

The final thing to consider is your family. Yes it was mentioned above, but that was in regards to them wanting a glider. This time, you should determine if any of them want to help you care for the glider and its cage and toys. Gliders are not meant for young children, they are fragile and need gentle handling. If you have young ones, it may be best to wait before getting a sugar glider and let the kids get a little older.

Fun Things For Glider Cages

Sugar Glider Cages

When it comes to sugar glider cages the bigger the aviary the better. Most people gain that space in height when building their own glider cages. Cages can come in all sorts of shapes and sizes. No smaller than 36" tall and 36" wide is recommended as sugar gliders need height to feel more secure. Though I saw an Australian web site that said American cages are way too small. So perhaps this guideline is controversial depending upon whom you ask. It would seem likely so as sugar gliders can go over 150 feet in the wild.

Branches in the cage are important as gliders rarely touch the ground when they live in the open. The bars of the cage should be no more than a 1/2 inch apart. A wired cage allows good ventilation. Never store your glider in a dark room or garage. Always provide indirect sunlight during the day, but not direct sunlight. Keep the cage out of drafty areas and away from heaters. Most gliders are comfortable in temperatures ranging from 70 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit. It is good to expose sugar gliders to natural daylight hours. Some owners use infrared lights at night for viewing their pet.

Homemade cages are popular to many glider owners. One family erected a sugar glider cage around an actual baby crib by enclosing it with wire mesh. Powder covered cages are best as there have been reports of pvc covered wire which has made gliders sick. This gives their little marsupial plenty of space to nest, and lets them roll the cage from room to room. The drawback with this design is perhaps the height is not there.

Of course, the gliders do not really like changes, but that usually applies to toys and items in their cage. Another owner did not have the money for larger sugar glider cages but wanted to give his marsupial extra space. He took two cages and cut the bottom away from one and placed them on top of one another. Then he wired the two together securely all the way around. This gave him basically double the space of what he had with only one cage. Caution should be used with whatever option one chooses. Thought should be put into ownership of the pet and glider cages must be fully considered for the gliders well being. In a tall cage, a three tiered macrame plant holder is good for bedding and nesting.

I read a blog by one sugar glider owner who said hers got out, by watching how she opened the cage door, but never left the room they were in. So it seems likely that if you take great care of your pet, they will not just leave. I would still take extra care that the room that houses a glider cage does not have any openings.

Actually, gliders will not try and escape their surroundings like a rodent will try to do. They are content to stay with their owners and have fun.

Sugar Glider Breeders

Choosing A Glider Breeder

Finding a reputable sugar glider breeder fairly close to you is not to difficult a task for  most parts of the country. These are individuals who take on the responsibility of maintaining breeding sugar gliders and genuinely love the animals they are breeding. These animals are considered legal exotic pets in the U.S. and therefore have some unusual maintenance requirements. A responsible individual who oversees sugar gliders breeding will pass on their knowledge to prospective owners of gliders.

The USDA must license any sugar gliders breeding facility. If you are buying a glider from someone who owns more than three breeding animals, ask to see this USDA certification. Also, sugar gliders require an enormous amount of attention from their owners. A reputable breeder will ask you a lot of questions about the kind of home and environment you can provide for your pet. Be prepared by doing some research so you have some idea of how to answer.

These creatures do not do well as the only pet in a household. In the wild they live in small social groups and are usually only able to thrive if there is at least one other member of their species in the home. Responsible breeders will insist that you adopt them in pairs or, at the very least, prove that you are able to provide your pet with round the clock personal attention. Since this is such a sociable animal, beware of breeders that seem anxious to get rid of just one. Animals like this, that need to live with other animals, will not do well by themselves.

A good breeder will also be able to provide you with information about how to care for your glider(s). Additionally, they should be able to show you the parents; they should be healthy, well-adjusted and are a good indicator for healthy babies. Stay away from breeders that are trying to sell you gliders younger than 8 weeks old. Gliders do the best when they stay in their mother's pouch for the first 8 weeks of their life.

Since sugar gliders are rising in popularity, there are decent breeders all over the country. Go online and search the more popular web sites for these animals. Many of these web site owners are happy to answer any and all emails about these pets. They are a great source of breeder information as well.

It's always best to look for a local breeder. There are very few wild or domestic animals that can handle the stress of long distance shipping without getting sick and possibly dying. Asking local veterinarians in your area for referrals will also help in your search for the perfect glider pet. The price range for these animals is anywhere from $100-$600 depending on the location and reputation of the breeder. This is a lovely pet that is expensive and requires a fairly high amount of maintenance. Make sure the breeder you buy from is willing to continue communicating with you if you have any questions. Sugar Gliders For Kids

Choosing the perfect pet to add as a member of the family is a big decision. An animal to consider that has gained popularity as a pet in recent years is sugar gliders. Owners have found the gliders to offer affectionate companionship and endless entertainment.

This tiny nocturnal marsupial has specific requirements an owner must be willing to undertake. A commitment to quality care must extend several years as sugar gliders facts indicate a lifespan of 10-15 years for the pets. Even with the required extra care sugar gliders serve as good pets for kids and adults alike.

Pet ownership must always relate to a person’s commitment to responsibility, patience capacity, and desire for animal companionship. A competent adult should make the decision whether or not a child is mature enough to possess these necessary qualities. Or, the adult must have enough available time and be willing to carefully supervise care while the child is learning about gliders.

The first step in pet ownership is to research whether or not there are any regulations with which to comply and ascertain if the animal has been banned by the municipality or state of your residence. According to sugar gliders facts these exotic pets were first imported to the United States in 1994 and sale or ownership is regulated by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). A computer savvy kid would be able to do this research online and find most of the things needed to know about glider ownership.

Discuss with the child the importance of bonding with sugar gliders. Successful bonding may happen in just a few days or the process may take several months. A child should understand that during this bonding time gliders may react in excitement or fear by biting at the hand. A child that is prepared to expect this nipping reaction will know how to correctly and positively respond.

The child should have knowledge of the importance of keeping the pet’s living quarters clean. Additional cleaning will be needed for other locations in the room where the glider has relieved itself when out of the cage. A young pet owner can safely perform these chores.

Make sure the child understands the amount and types of food that can be fed, and how often to feed. Clean drinking water each day is another care requirement.

A child must be coached in sugar glider facts as to cage size and configuration requirements, bonding pouch use, nutrition needs, necessary hours of play time, and possible veterinarian visits. Being fully informed prepares a child to be successful with pet care commitment, or to require minimal parental assistance to carry out all of the duties.

Family discussion and planning before adopting a sugar glider lays the foundation for almost any kid to successfully care for and enjoy a tiny glider friend. All this work is paid back in full and then some with an incredibly loving pet. When you consider the life expectancy of 12-15 years, your child can build a wonderful relationship with their glider.
